Walter David Meade 87 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 20, 2011. He was preceded by his parents, George and Lucy Meade; a son Stanley Meade; two brothers, Carl and Rutherford Meade and two sisters, Leola Meade Wilson and Clara Meade. Mr. Meade was a kind gentle person who loved to help others and never turned away any animal that came to his door. Surviving are nieces, Margaret Meade Nester of Vinton, Joyce Meade Taylor and husband Calvin of Draper, Lou Ann Meade of Norfolk, Lori Meade Samples and husband Frank of Florida; one great niece, Teresa Clingenpeel; two great nephews, Troy Farmer, Carl Taylor; two great great nieces, Sarah Clingenpeel and Kala Farmer; a very special neighbor and friend, Lyn Hankins Boyd and her husband Peter and friend Pam Prather of Roanoke In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to any animal rescue organization in his name. Friends may visit with the family Saturday, October 22, 2011 form 5:00-7:00pm at Simpson Funeral Home. A grave side service will be held 1:00pm Sunday, October 23, 2011 in the Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Franklin County.
