Obituary of Roy Melvin Overstreet

Roy Melvin Overstreet of Goodview formerly of Bedford passed away on Monday May 1 2017 at the age of 73 after fighting a long courageous battle with glioblastoma cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Martin, and Eleanor  Burroghs, a brother, James Overstreet and the love of his life Christine Cundiff.

Roy is survived by his sisters, Linda Thomas of Goodview, Helen Lynch of Moneta. Along with several nieces, nephews, dear friends, Bob Cash, Jerry Dooley and Tom and Sharon Bowles of Bedford.

The family would like to give many thanks to Americare and all the wonderful caregivers

that have been faithfully taking care of Roy over the past 3 years.

A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Saturday June 3, 2017 at Diamond Hill Baptist Church in Moneta, Virginia with Rev. Monroe Baldwin officiating. The family would like to invite all for fellowship, refreshments and to share memories of Roy following the service in the Life Center in the church.
