Dorothy Lucas Revere 95, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and formerly of Roanoke, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Myrtle Beach. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. The youngest of ten children, she was born October 5, 1921 in Botetourt County to Walter and Pearl Lucas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Revere, five brothers, Clinton Lucas, Walter Lucas, Leslie Lucas, Dennis Lucas, the Rev. Dargan Lucas and four sisters, Edith Caldwell, Gladys Caldwell, Hazel Winstead, and Nellie Mullins. Mrs. Revere was a Registered Nurse, having graduated from Lewis Gale School of Nursing. She was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Sandy Revere of Myrtle Beach; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Mark Thompson of Kilmarnock, VA; grandchildren, Amanda Revere and Matthew Craig of Brooklyn, NY, Aaron and Merritt Thompson of Richmond, and Elizabeth and Zach Hill of NY, NY, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Shenandoah Baptist Church, 6520 Williamson Road, Roanoke, Va. 24019. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 am Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, by the Rev. Robert Alderman. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service
