James Floyd (Red) Sowers 84, of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Sunday April 9, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Powers Sowers; father, James Minnis Sowers; and son, Raymond Michael Sowers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Anna Roop Sowers. His sisters, Mona Seacrist (Paul), Connie Worrel, and Pat Greer. Daughter, Donna Craft. Granddaughters, Tarra Svec (Joel) and Shiree Craft. Great Grandchildren, Abigail Svec, Ryan Svec, and Eric Svec. Special friends, Pete Moses, Doug Craighead, Rusty Smith, and many others.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2016 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Denise Bates. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from noon until service time on Friday at Simpson Funeral Home 366-0707
