Obituary of Dolores Childress Bowman

Dolores Childress Bowman 66 of Roanoke went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday April 3, 2017. A sister, Martha Raye and a brother, W.C. Childress, preceded her. Dolores spent her time working at McDonalds in Vinton for 12+ years. When she was not working, she enjoyed her canine companions, shopping with family and friends, but especially her time with grand babies. Being a very loving and special mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend she will be dearly missed by all. Left to cherish her memory are her five children, two sons, Charles Bowman and wife Carol, Timmy Bowman and partner Sherry Hale; three daughters, Penny Blevins and husband Tony, Cheryl Bowman, and Crystal Barbour; fourteen grandchildren, Jacob Bowman, William Bowman, Kenneth Myers, Nathan Myers, Phillip Myers, Heather Blevins, Gabby Blevins, Ceirra Blevins, Brook Blevins, Brandon Bowman, Shelby Bowman, Kamren Blevins, Brittney Finch, and Candyce Hayden; great grandchildren, Haleigh Myers, Nathan Myers, II great great grandchildren, Sophia, Saidee, Audrey Bowman, Jaylah Morris, and John Morris;; five sisters, Linda Faye Brady, Peggy Long, Thelma Holdren, Coleen Alford, and Joyce; one brother, Jimmy Childress; her dear friends, Cristina Jones and Rose Elmer, and her family away from home, the McDonalds Crew. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to P.O. Box 6231, Roanoke, Virginia 24016 to help with the service expense. A memorial graveside service celebrating Dolores’s life will be held 11:00am Saturday July 15, 2017 in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
