Shirley Kermeen Hudson of Roanoke, VA went to be with the Lord on Friday March 24, 2017. She was born on May 10, 1936 in Cheviot, New Zealand to the late William and Kathleen Kermeen. Preceded by her husband, Bernard M. Hudson, sons, Steven Geoffrey, and Bernard Mark Hudson, siblings, Roslyn Parker, Kathy Richan and Geoffrey Kermeen.
Left to cherish Shirley’s memory are her daughter, Sheryl Hudson Wray and husband Steve; grandchildren, Meagan Wray and fiancé JW Howery, Zachary Wray, Michael Hudson, and Kristina Hudson; great grandchildren, Bryson, Nevaeh, Josh, and Sydney; a sister, Anne Gourdie of New Zealand. Shirley dearly loved her family and friends as they did for her, a truly wonderful person, who will be dearly missed by all.
Shirley was a veteran of the Royal New Zealand Navy, and a longtime member of the Red Hat Society, Kazim Shriners, VFW, AMVETS Post 40, Fleet Reserve Assoc., FOP, and Beta Sigma Phi.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL. 33607, that which she and her husband held close to their hearts.
A memorial service celebrating Shirley’s life will be held 7:00pm Tuesday March 28, 2017 in Simpson Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5:00pm until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Condolences may left for the family at www.simpsonfuneral.com.
