Karen Lee Cole (Shank, Shively, Lewis) 57 of Roanoke was fighting a tough battle of cancer when the Lord called her home to heaven early Monday morning. Karen was a kind and loving woman to anyone who knew her, which earned her the nickname "momma k". She was a dedicated member of Christ's Church at Northside. Left surviving: her parents Evelyn and Delford, brother Phillip and wife Renita, children Ian, Elijah, Kevin, Dustin, Dakota, Amanda, and Melissa, grandchildren Alexis, Tyler, McKenzie, Jade, Ethan, Alexie, Cordellia, Laylah, Ava, and Skylar. The viewing will be held Friday, July 6, 2012 at Simpson Funeral Home on Peters Creek Road from 6:00-8:00pm. Service is Saturday at 11:00am at the funeral home with pastors Jim Forenger and Wayne Sellers officiating. Graveside service will be at Alvin Methodist Church Cemetery in Alvin, West Virginia at 2:00pm.We will return at 6:00pm for a small family gathering. Arrangements handled by Simpson Funeral Home and Crematory, 366-0707.
