Jack Ware Mullins 91, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Colene Metz Mullins, son, Jack Ware Mullins, II and daughter, Kelly Sue Murray. Jack was a World War II veteran and of the Baptist faith. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. Surviving are his wife, Shirley McLaughlin; sons, William L. Mullins and companion Rita Scott of Roanoke; Donald F. Mullins and wife Mary of Bristol; Mark Mullins and wife Kim of McKinock, ND; granddaughters, Holly Chappell, and Kayla Murray; grandson, Jason Mullins; two great grandchildren, Ariel and Hayden Chappell; step son, Doug McLaughlin; stepdaughter, Debbie Evans; step grandson, Jeremy Evans; step granddaughter, Sara Kegel; step great grandson, Maxwell Kegel; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2017 in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. 366-0707.
