Irene Virginia Hodges Clark, 89, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 26, 2017. She was preceded by her husband, Melvin Clark, son, Glenn Clark, brother, Cary Hodges and sister, Estelle Stanley.
Mrs. Clark was a longtime member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and more recently a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, James E. Clark of Miami Beach, Fla.; daughter, Terri Ferguson and husband Bruce of Roanoke; grandchildren, Angela Jones and husband Todd, Brian Ferguson and wife Jenene; great grandchildren, Seth Jones and Connor Jones; brother, Irvin Hodges; and sisters, Elsie Clark, Betty Steele and husband Marvin, Margie Moore, Josephine Perkins, Doris Rhodes and husband Allen; daughter-in-law, Teresa Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Daniel J. Palmer and Dr. Darryl G. Crim. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
