Thomas C. "Pete" Walker, 66, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 27, 2016. He was preceded by his father, Thomas E. Walker; mother, Mae Walker Bond; niece, Angela Davis and brother-in-law, Paul Keyser. Surviving are his wife of 14 years, Kimberly Hopkins Walker; children, Sean Hopkins and Destiny Taylor; grandson, Wyatt Hopkins; brother, Edward "Scott" (Amanda) Walker; sisters, June Keyser, Linda (Leroy) Robinson, Diane (Jimmy) Miller, Barbara (Harold) Mayhew and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Cancer Care. A celebration of Pete's life will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Simpson Funeral Home, 540-366-0707.
