Obituary of Anita Jacqueline Ayers

Anita Jacqueline “Jackie” Ayers 81 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord, Wednesday December 14, 2016. Jackie was born September 18, 1935 in Bluefield, West Virginia to her parents, the late Dolly Gay and Quincy Ford Hamrick. A sister, Evelyn Ruth Moore, and brothers, Alfred and William Hamrick, also preceded her.
Left to cherish Jackie’s memory are her husband of 59 years, Donald Wesley Ayers, Sr.; sons and daughter-in-law, Donald W. and Becca Ayers, Cecil F. and Beverly D. Ayers, Michael and Cassandra “Sandy” Ayers; daughters, Evelyn A. Graham, and Pamela G. Gibson and husband Jason; Along with Jackie’s 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Jackie was an employee with CMT Sporting Goods for many years. When she wasn’t working she loved spending time with her family and baking for them, especially at this time of year. In addition, she loved her family. A very loving and caring person who will be dearly missed by all.
A service celebrating Jackie’s life will be held 2:00p Saturday at Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Stiffler officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friend from 5:00-8:00p Friday December 16, 2016 at Simpson Funeral Home. Condolences may be left for the family at www.simpsonfuneral.com.
