Joy Dyer Smith, 60, of Bent Mountain, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016. Joy was preceded in death by her father Norman Dyer. Surviving are her husband Grant Smith; daughter, Stacy Smith; son, Parker Smith; grand-daughter, Isabella Smith; mother, Mary Dyer; brothers, Joe Dyer and wife Leta, and Jimmy Dyer and wife Debbie; sister, Sherri Creason and husband David. The family would like to give a special thanks to Bill and Sandy Chafin, Gerald and Martha Spencer, Good Samaritan Hospice, as well as many good friends and co-workers of the family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Joy's name to the Bent Mountain Fire & Rescue Station as well as the Bent Mountain Women’s Club. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to service time.
