Douglas Speas Payne, 79, of Salem passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Briscoe Clayton and Frances Barney Payne of Winston-Salem, NC; and a sister, Shirley Payne.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma; daughters, Nina Payne of Lexington, KY; Tina Payne, Atlanta, GA; and Michelle Seagraves of Greensboro, NC. Also surviving are three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mr. Payne was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Salem and will be greatly missed.
At his request, there will be no visitation or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in his memory.
