James Junior (Sammy) Brogan, 78, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Monday November 21, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Frances Byrd Brogan, former wife Ruby,and son, Dwight Brogan.
Sammy retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation, was an avid Nascar fan and loved to go fishing.
Surviving are his daughter, Laurie Ann Brogan; son, Thomas Dwayne Brogan and wife Deana; grandchildren, Bradley Wayne Brogan, Joseph Allen Crouch (Tiffany), Seth Thomas Brogan, Jordan Thomas Brogan; great grandchild, Macie Marie Crouch; sisters, Betty Huffman, Shirley Dunbar, and Lula Young and husband Freddie (who he made his home with for many years), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. Interment will follow in Springwood Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Simpson Funeral Home, 540-366-0707.
