John N. Larson, 93, of Roanoke went home to be with his Lord Monday, November 14, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sigfried and Audrey Larson, wife Margaret Larson, and brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Mr. Larson served in the U S Army, the active Army Reserve and the Virginia Defense Force for a total of 38 years. He and his brother operated Larson Brothers Contracting. He later retired from the Roanoke County School System. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, and a former member of the Elks Club. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 4040 Williamson Road Roanoke, Va. 24012. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Kenneth Lane. Interment with military honors will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. To have the honor of being Pallbearers or, John Apgar, Bill Jacoby, Clayton Thomas, Mark Thomas, Jimmy Welsh and Robert Seagle. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
