Obituary of Richard Fredrick Braford

Richard F. "Dick" Braford, 61, of Roanoke died Friday, November 11, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard C. and Nancye Litz Braford and a son, Andrew.
Dick was a graduate of Grand Canyon University, and a veteran of the U S Army. He served with the Roanoke County Police Department for 27 years. After his retirement from Roanoke County he served as a Lieutenant on the Carilion Clinic Police force.
Surviving are his wife, Stephanie Braford; two adult children; brother, John E. (Jeb) Braford, wife Lynn and their daughter Marissa, Joe Braford, wife Kathy and their children, Adam and Ryan; and cousins too numerous to mention.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral services will be conducted noon Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Ed Watkins. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
