Virginia Wells Custer, 82, of Fincastle went home to be with the Lord, Tuesdday, June 12, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Wesley Custer and her parents, Warren and Addie Wells. Mrs. Custer was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are her son and daughter in law, Warren Wesley and Desie Custer of Fincastle; grandchldren, Jessica and Vanessa Sullivan; special friends, Marty Kamm, Sunny Donahue, Debbie Cutright, and Lisa Blessard; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at Carrington Place at Botetourt and to the staff of Gentle Shepherd Hospice for their love and support during Mrs. Custer's illness. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church 4930 Country Club Road Troutville, Va. 24175. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Kevin. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
