Wayne G. Gibson, 72, of Vinton, passed away, Thursday, September 29, 2016. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Christine Gibson; brothers, Paul, Ralph, and Carl Gibson. Wayne is survived by brothers, Eugene Gibson, and Ronald Gibson and wife Amanda; daughters, Renee Underwood and husband Stephen, Nichole Gibson and James Collie; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jonathan Gibson-Cromer, and Ryan and Jacey Estep, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Intrepid Hospice, VA Medical in Salem, as well as Tom the Cat. A memorial for Wayne’s service to his country will be conducted Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory.
