Darlene Overstreet Buchanan Whitt, 64, of Wirtz went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 21, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sally Overstreet. Darlene was a 1970 graduate of Jefferson High School. For many years she worked as a floral designer in the Roanoke area.Surviving are her husband, Doug Whitt; children, Peter Andrew Buchanan and wife Rebecca, Christy Lynch and husband Bill, and John Buchanan; step daughter, Julie Shelton and husband, David; brother, Kevin Legge; sister, Donna Johnson; step mother, Gladys Overstreet; grandchildren, Caleigh Craft, Julie Buchanan, Seth Shelton, and Sarah Hollish and husband, Chris; great grandchildren, August Craft, John Overstreet and wife, Nancy, and Jerry Overstreet.A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Earl Clemons.
