Jackie Cregger, 71 of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday September 21, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Myrtle Cregger; brother, Randy Cregger; and nephew, Michael Pirrung. Jackie was retired from the VA Medical Center in Salem.Surviving are her sister, Shirley Pirrung and husband, Bob; three nephews, and one niece.The family would like to offer their special thanks to the staff at Care Advantage, and the staff at Good Samaritan Hospice for the care they provided during Jackie's illness.In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Virginia Baptist Childrens Home 860 Mount Vernon Lane Salem, Va. 24153 or to Angels of Assisi 415 Campbell Avenue S.W. Roanoke, Va. 24016.A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2015 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. 540-366-0707
