Obituary of Betty Lee Ronk

Betty Lee Showalter Ronk passed beyond the sunset on Friday, September 16, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Galen Robert Ronk; parents, the Rev. Albert H. and Venie Flowers Showalter; brothers, Milton Showalter (June), Homer Showalter; sisters, Orpha Falwell (Jim), Nedra Caldwell (Edd); sister-in-law, Virginia M. Ronk; nephew, Ronald L. Falwell. Surviving her are two loving sons, R. Gary Ronk (Debbie) and Alan E. Ronk (Deanie); two wonderful grandchildren, Christopher S. Ronk (Katie) and Sarah K. Dillon (Rawley); two step grandchildren, Annie L. McGowan and Bonnie M. McGowan; two great-granddaughters, Lauren E. Ronk and Ava R. Dillon; special sister-in-law, Frances F. Showalter; nephew, Gerald D. Showalter; nieces, Dale S. Crisp (Bill), Rhonda S. Dugan (Chris), and Rachel Falwell. She was blessed with many cousins and special friends including Barbara Long, Nancy Bragg, Linda Camden and Annette Conner. Betty was a life member of Masons Cove Church of the Brethren and was the last member of the Albert Showalter family. Recently she was attending Peters Creek Church of the Brethren. Betty will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but we are happy that she is now at peace with the Lord. The family would like to especially thank the staff of Snyder Nursing Home for their loving care of Betty. Funeral Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Peters Creek Church of the Brethren. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Simpson Funeral home 5160 Peters Creek Road, 540-366-0707. "When as a child I laughed and wept, Time crept; When as a youth I dreamed and talked, Time walked; When older still I daily grew, Time flew; Now I find in traveling on, Time gone."
