James Kyle "Jimbo" Sayre, 73, of Salem went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, October 20, 2011. He was born on March 15, 1938 in Mohican, West Virginia a son of the late Charles James and Hazel Green Sayre. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Lee Sayre. Surviving are his sons, David Sayre and wife Angela of Mooresville, N.C.; Mark Sayre and wife Jennifer of Moneta; four grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Franco of Salem; Carol Vass and husband Benjamin of Piedmont, S.C.; brothers, Gary Sayre and wife Caroline of Pauline, S.C.; John Sayre and wife Janice of Kernersville, N.C.; "his sweetie" Betty Thornton of Salem and special friend, Carol Sayre of Vinton. Numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Good Samaritan Hospice 2408 Electric Road Roanoke, Virginia 24018. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. E.R. Wood and Bill Radford. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
