John De Ayres
World War II D-Day Veteran
John De Ayres accomplished his final flight and entered his heavenly home on Wednesday September 7, 2016.
He is survived by his wife, Cathryn V. Ayres; and daughters, Kara A. Oliver (Mark) and Trina A. Stephens (Graham), as well as grandchildren, Hunter A. Oliver (Sarah) and Claire E. Oliver.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 2:00pm in The Abbey at Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem, VA.
The family will receive visitors beginning at 1:30pm until the service. In lieu of food or flowers, please make any donations to the D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA.
The family wishes to thank all of those who assisted in John’s care over the course of his illness; we appreciate your skill and kindnesses.
