Daniel Clyde Gunter "Dan", 84, of Roanoke, entered his heavenly home, Tuesday, August 16, 2016, after a two year battle with cancer. Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam "Lois" Gunter; and granddaughters, April and Amy McBride.
Dan is served in the United States Navy and was a retired employee of General Electric in Salem, Va. He and Lois previously owned Gunter Trucking and D&L Enterprises.
Surviving are his daughter, Sherry: son, Danny; grandson, Ridge; aunt Ruby; and extended family, and friends. Also his three special dogs who were a great comfort to him in his last days. The family would like to thank Lisa and Debby with Carilion Hospice for their loving care and support. Dan looked forward to your visits and good conversation.
The family has planned a private service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory, 540-366-0707.
