George Wilbur Wilkerson, 95, of Roanoke passed peacefully into his Saviour's arms Friday, August 12, 2016. George proudly served his country as a Navy Seabee in World War II. Running rabbits with his beagles and gardening were his favorite pastimes. George was a faithful and longtime member of Enon Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to RVSPCA 1340 Baldwin Avenue Roanoke, Va. 24012. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Troy Mays and the Rev. Glenn Giles.
