Obituary of Lena Beatrice Peck

Beatrice "Bea" Patteson Peck, 96, of Roanoke, died peacefully Sunday, August 7, 2016 on what would have been her husband, Homer's 96th birthday. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, Robert C. and Annie A. Patteson; and sisters, Corrine P. Patterson and Vera P. Hamblin. Bea was a lifelong member of Huntington Court United Methodist Church and an avid antique and clock collector.
Surviving are her son, Garry Allen Peck and wife, Cheryl; daughter, Linda Peck Pedigo and husband, Gary; grandsons, Allen Hunter Peck, Gregory Allen Oliver, Gary Mitchell Peck, and Brian Keith Oliver; step-granddaughter, Cherie P. Pugh; great grandchildren, Cameron Ashworth, Alex and Katey Oliver, Annah Pugh and Haley Brooke Peck.
The family wishes to extend a heart felt thank you to the staff at South Roanoke Nursing home. Their care was invaluable. They also wish to thank Dreama Locks for being there at just the right time.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Huntington Court United Methodist Church, 3333 Williamson Road, Roanoke, VA 24012 or to the Adult Day Care Center of the Roanoke Valley, 2321 Roanoke Boulevard, Salem, VA 24153.
Funeral services will be conduced 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Jeff Wilson. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
