Obituary of Barbara Louise Craighead

Barbara Long Craighead, lovingly known as Mom, 84, of Salem, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 30, 2016. She was preceded by her husband, Macel L. Craighead; parents, Armstead and Addie Long; brothers, Leon, Marvin and Melvin Long; and sisters, Evelyn Gordon and Betty Rose.
Surviving are her son, James R. (Jimmy) Craighead and wife, Betty; daughter, Phyllis Craighead Kuehn and husband, Joe; grandchildren, Brian Kuehn and wife, Tena, Wendy Smythers and husband, Grant, Michelle Craighead; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Jacob Kuehn and Connor and Caden Smythers.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Alzheimers Association 3959 Electric Road Roanoke, VA 24018.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home, 540-366-0707.
