Obituary of Mary Sue Huffman

Mary Sue Duncan Huffman, 80 years young, also affectionately known as Ma Sue and Grand-Ma Mouse, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and family on July 22, 2016. Sue was preceded in death by her father, James Dennis Duncan, mother, Susie Victoria Duncan, husband of 49 years, Richard K. (Dickie) Huffman, Sr., daughter, Dena Gail Huffman, and granddaughter, Amber Lynn Huffman. Sue is survived by her son, Richard K. (Rick) Huffman, Jr. of Troutville; daughters, Mitzi Huffman-Tuck and son-in-law, J. C. Tuck of Roanoke, and Virginia Sue (Ginny) Huffman-Bishop and son-in-law, Leslie (Bruce) Bishop of Roanoke; and son Jerry Lee Broughman of Moneta; seven grandchldren, twelve great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; and her two BFF's of over 60 years, Gladys Edwards Cronise and Myrtle Jane Childress, both of Roanoke. Sue was adventurous and loved to travel, do puzzles, play games and socialize on social media. She loved a good book, eating out with friends, and watching her favorite programs. She also enjoyed sewing, doing arts and crafts and making things for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sue was a former employee of Lendy's Restaurant at both the Lakeside and Williamson Road locations and a loyal employee of the Yellow Cab Company where she worked as a bookkeeper for over 30 years. She attended Jefferson High School in Roanoke, Va. More than anything Sue loved her family and friends and they were her world. In lieu of flowers or donations please do something thoughtful, considerate and kind each day for someone, and remember to smile.
