Irvin Lee Poff, 75, of Salem went home to be with the Lord, Friday, June 8, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan Lee Poff and Velvie Graham, sister, Josephine Poff and an infant daughter, Linda Ann Poff. Mr. Poff retired from the Eaton Corporation. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Martha Ann Poff, daughter, Vickie Franklin of Vinton; son, Richard Lee Poff, of Salem; grandchildren, Christy Franklin, and Ashley Hanson; great grandchildren, Chasity Franklin and Braylon Hensley; sisters, Hazel Wickline of Christiansburg; and Dorothy Shepherd of Salem; brothers, Lynwood Poff of Georgia; and Paul Poff of Blacksburg; a number of nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Kindred Hospital of Greensboro, N.C. for their many acts of kindness and support during Irvin's illness. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Ricky Collins. Interment will follow in the Shawsville Congregational Holiness Cemetery, Shawsville, Va. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
