Obituary of Terry Lynn Dodge

Terry Lynn Dodge was born November 5, 1946, to Dorsey Carl Dodge and Ocie Madeleine (Lewis Dodge) Lawson, in Terra Alta, WV. He is preceded by both his parents, step-father Dick Lawson, several brothers and one sister. When the Dodge boys got together, they loved to swap tales of the antics of growing up in the hills of West Virginia, especially the trial and judgement for Jinx the cat, at age 10 driving the car with no floorboards or brakes, and walking over telephone lines with snowshoes so his Dad, the schoolteacher, could light the stove in the one room schoolhouse. No one could make better baking ammonia lemon cookies than his grandma! Surviving are Terry's wife, Mary Luck Dodge, sons Thomas Jason Klein (wife Mabel Garcia), Trevor Deane Dodge (wife Pennie Lee), Dustin Kyle Dodge, all of the Roanoke Valley, and daughter Kelly Michelle (Dodge) Casillas (fiancée Dennis Joy), of Roseville, CA. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren Carlie Renea Dodge, Brianna Marie Carrillo, Landen Dean Klein, Makayla Olivia Casillas, and Adriana Belle Casillas; brothers Ronald Lewis (wife Mary Ann) of Bulls Gap TN, Dennis 'Wizard' Dodge of Martinsburg WV, Richard Lawson of Conway SC, also sister-in-law Elma 'Jewel' Dodge of Ohio, along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Terry first moved to Washington DC, then on to Roanoke VA in the 1960s. He worked as manager of a private collection agency and was recruited by S.H.Heironimus Co., where he was Credit Manager for 20 years. Most recently, Terry worked for NAPA as a Roanoke City garage parts courier. He cherished his Heironimus and his NAPA/City garage families, along with special friends Charles Davenport and Juanita Watson. A private interment was held at Old Tombstone Cemetery in Roanoke, on July 22, 2016. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016, starting at 11am, at Hollins Road Baptist Church, 3502 Old Mountain Rd NE, Roanoke.
