I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Leroy. I only had the pleasure of meeting him several years ago while assisting with VE testing for the Roanoke Valley Amateur Radio Club. I am sure he will be truly missed and you are all in my thoughts.

I am very fortunate to have known LeRoy and call him my friend. We spent many hours together in the car over the last few years going to Communities to conduct Ham Radio tests. LeRoy always had a kind and gentle way about him. I never heard him utter an unkind word about anyone or anything. Thoughts, Prayers and hugs to his family and friends.

This obituary is a perfect tribute to Leroy. A wonderful, giving, caring friend who always had a smile to share. What an example of how to live the good life. May we all learn from his life. Leroy was always bigger than life and filled the room with laughter and joy. May we all smile when we think of Leroy. Family, thank you for Sharing him with us.

I had the good fortune of working with Leroy for several years at ITT. He was always a kind hearted and good natured person. I remember enjoying hearing his laughter resonating from his office door when joking with friends. He was also an extremely diligent and conscientious employee and held in high esteem by all at work. I am retired now and whenever I reminisce about my best days at ITT, I always remember Leroy. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Sarah, Steve, Alvin, Loell and all of Leroy's family, I want you to know how sad we are at the passing of Leroy. I didn't get to see him often but have fond memories of conversations with him and visits at Grandma's and reunions. I know there is a great reunion in Heaven but a great loss and void here on earth for all who loved him. Mom and I won't be able to be at the service unfortunately but we wanted you to know you all are in our thoughts and prayers and we love you. Rhonda and Rosie.

Leroy Maxey was one of the very best human beings I have ever known. He was always kind and helpful to family, friends, and neighbors and would have given you the "shirt off his back" if it was needed. In growing up with Leroy and Sarah Ann in that small West Virginia town there are wonderful memories we have shared. And I will always be thankful for and cherish the memory of this great man.
