Obituary of June Scott Bonn

June Scott Bonn, 84 years old of Roanoke, died peacefully at the Carrington Place Nursing Home in Daleville, Virginia on Thursday, June 16, 2016. A loving Mother to her daughters, and Mammaw to her grandchildren, she went to be with her Lord and Savior and joined her dearly missed husband, parents and sisters in heaven. June was born on February 29, 1932 in Roanoke, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, and lifelong love, Richard “Bill” Bonn; her parents, Francis Holliday Scott and Ola Frances Scott; sisters, Doris Hughes and Velma Hatcher. Surviving are her brother, Donald and wife Phyllis Scott; daughters, Delores “Dee” Smith, and Diane “Di” Scull and husband Warren Scull; grandchildren, Richard Smith, Mary “Katie” Smith, Chelsea Pucher and husband Shane, and Chad Scull. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to say thank you to the dedicated staff at Carrington Place and Gentle Shepard Hospice for their tender love and care provided for June. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in June's memory to Green Ridge Presbyterian Church, 7640 Alpine Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016, at Simpson Funeral Home located at 5160 Peters Creek Rd, Roanoke, VA, 24019 with Chaplain Shane Pucher officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 19, 2016, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home.
