Obituary of Loama R. Dunbar

Loama Rae Dunbar age 73, of the Stewartsville area of Bedford County passed away on June 9, 2016, preceded by the passing of her beloved husband, Thomas Cecil Dunbar Jr. Her sister and two brothers. Daughter to the late Davis Irvin Bernard and Ruby Catherine Atkins Witt Bernard, she was born on September 20, 1942, in Washington D. C.
Mrs. Dunbar was self-employed with many years of service as a Tax Preparer and as a Carrier for the Roanoke Times.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Elizabeth Brock, Joann Ellis, Edwin Matchett, Ann Ward, Loama Perkins, and Maronda Boswell as well as her stepchildren Timmy, Brian and Michael Dunbar. She was blessed with and loved by fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, three brothers and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the Palliative and Thoracic Intensive Care Units at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care they provided. Also the family wishes to express their gratitude for the EMTs of Bedford County for all of their assistance.
Rather than a viewing and formal memorial service, it was Loama's wish that her life be celebrated by a gathering at her home of her family and friends where memories and mutual support will be shared.
The Celebration will take place on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Condolences for the family can be left at www.simpsonfuneral.com.
