Flora Ella Dooley Headrick 90 of Salem went to be with the Lord on Thursday May 5, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ms. Headrick was born on November 22, 1925 in Troutville, Va. She retired from the Roanoke Valley Psychiatric Center and The Park at Oak Grove Retirement Community after many years of service.
She was preceded by her husband, James Kenneth “Wolfman” Headrick; her parents; four brothers, and five sisters. Flo was a special blessing to her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Connie Ezell of Salem, Michael Headrick (Kathy) of Portsmouth, James “Tim” Headrick of Roanoke, and Clifford Headrick (Sondra) of Roanoke; daughter-in-law, Ina Headrick of Floyd; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Flo’s memory.
A funeral service celebrating Ms. Headrick’s life will be held 1:00pm Monday May 9, 2016 in Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Moser officiating.
