Emmett Robert (Bobby) Tolbert, III, 63 of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 14, 2016. He is reunited with his daddy, Emmett R. Tolbert, Jr., mother, Ida P. Tolbert, brother, Ricky D. Tolbert, and father-in-law, Edward W. McCraw, Sr.
Surviving Bobby, with broken hearts forever, are his wife of 42 years, Serena M. Tolbert; daughter, Erica T. Shafer and husband Wesley; son, David W. Tolbert and wife Kelly; grandchildren, who will miss their Poppy terribly, Taylor, Connor, Cora, Sebastian, and "soon" baby Wyatt; mother-in-law, Bessie M. McCraw; brother-in-law, Edward W. McCraw, Jr.; sisters, Donna Tolbert and Vickie Martin; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or Angels of Assisi.
A celebration of Bobby's life will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory. 366-0707
