Charles Richard McNutt, 82, of Roanoke, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully to be with our Heavenly Father, Friday, April 15, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Beulah McNutt; sisters, Marge Lawson of Kentucky, and Peggy St.Clair of Roanoke; brothers, James McNutt and Sheryl McNutt of Roanoke; and son, Jonathan McNutt.Charles was a graduate of Andrew Lewis High School and served in the United States Navy and Reserves for four years. He retired in 1993 from General Electric after 37 years of service. He worked part-time for Cavalier Equipment for almost 13 years.Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Delores McNutt; sons and daughters, Alan McNutt (Julie), Beverly Brooks (Dennis), Lisa Elliott (Bruce), Paul McNutt (Rosemary), and Elizabeth Palmer (George); 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Andrew's Catholic Church.Funeral services will be conducted noon Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, 540-366-0707.
