Johnny L. Scott, 67, of Callaway went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles "Goat" Scott; infant brothers, Larry Wayne and Charles Daniel Scott; and parents, Charles E. and Virginia F. Scott. Surviving are his wife, Pam Pearson Scott; sons, Brian, Zachary and wife, Sonja; daughter-in-law, Sarah; grandchildren, Justin, Isis, Alex, Clay; and great-granddaughter, Mia. In his younger days, Johnny was a musician, guitar was his favorite. A student of the American Civil War since first grade, he authored seven books in H. E. Howard's "Virginia Regimental History" series. He also contributed several articles for Simeon & Shuster's "Encyclopedia of the Confederacy". Per Johnny's wishes a graveside celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 in Fair View Cemetery with the Rev. Leonard Castleman officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. 366-0707
