Virginia DeBord, 93, of Salem went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 19, 2016. She was preceded by her husband, Ivan Lewis DeBord, as well as her sisters and brothers. Mrs. DeBord was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for many years.She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.The family would like to offer their special thanks to the staff of Gentle Shepherd Hospice for their tender care and many acts of compassion during Virginia's illness.In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Gentle Shepherd Hospice.A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016 in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
