Obituary of Sandra Sue Poff Craven

Sandra Poff Craven 68 of Thaxton passed away Monday March 14, 2016. Sandra was born in Roanoke. Her parents, Charles I. and Juanita Poff, a sister, Judy Rock, and her loving dog Tess preceded her. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Melinda Stout and husband Jamie; a son, Danny Craven and wife Marcella; sisters, Patty Bradshaw and husband Marty, Carolyn Barnhart, Kathy Doran, Cindy Poff, and a brother, Charles I. Poff and wife Pat. Also survived by numerous cousins, and loving nieces, and nephews who adored her. For many years, Sandra worked as a Beautician in the Washington D.C. and Roanoke areas. She was loved by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert C. Keely for his compassionate care over the past several years, and the kindest of the Nursing Staff at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Also a special thank you to the Shady Grove Fire and Rescue for all they have done. A memorial service celebrating Sandra’s life will be held from the Vinton Baptist Church, 6:00pm Saturday March 26, 2016 with Reverends Bill Booth and Chris Monroe officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations to Vinton Baptist Church would be welcomed.
