Obituary of Marian Firebaugh

Marian Firebaugh, 87, of Elliston, entered heaven on Thursday, May 17, 2012 to be reunited with her husband, Charlton Junior Firebaugh, who left her side on April 6, 2012. In addition to Junior, she was preceded in death by her son, Lynwood Firebaugh. Marian was a devoted wife, and mother. She was "Granny" to all those who knew her. She enjoyed being a homemaker, spending time with her family and friends, and was a long time member of Big Spring Baptist Church of Elliston. Marian and Junior enjoyed many years together, pulling their camper to various places, and especially looked forward to their yearly trips to Florida, where they would meet friends from many different states. Surviving are her son, Stephen D. Firebaugh and wife Susan, of Roanoke; granddaughter, Sonja Firebaugh Scott and her husband Zak of Glen Allen; great grandchildren, Justin and Clay Scott also of Glen Allen; foster son, Melvin Ferguson and wife Judy; and their children, Jeff Ferguson and wife Amy; Emily Grinnell and husband Sean and their children, Luke and David Grinnell; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to offer a special thanks to Medi Home Hospice and to all of the friends who have expressed their love and concern for Marian. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Roof Fund at Big Spring Baptist Church 9135 Roanoke Road Elliston, Va. 24087. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Ken Gray. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m Sunday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
