Please share a memory of Bettielou to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bettielou Francis Matheny Davidson died Monday February 15, 2016, just shy of her 86th birthday. Bettielou was an independent woman ahead of her time. She had a great sense of humor and was never at a loss for words. A generous woman, who never met a stranger, Bettielou was a planner and social organizer. She was always thinking of others. Bettielou is survived by her sister, Glenna M. Dodd, daughter and daughter in law, Carla Spencer and Adrienne Kuder, cousin, Mary Holcomb and very special friends Vicki Tuke, and Jay and Kim Thompson. She is also survived by her extended family of friends at Edinburgh Square and her confidant with teeth, Miss Xena. A special thank you to her friends at the Williamson Road Famous Anthony's, where she enjoyed hot potato soup, crisp bacon and many Sunday dinners. An informal celebration of life officiated by Reverend Susan Bentley, will be held at Edinburgh Square, 129 Hershburger Road, Roanoke Virginia 24012 at 1pm Saturday February 27, 2016 in the community room. The family also welcomes friends for visitation and light refreshments following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Salem Animal Shelter or your local animal shelter/rescue, as she was a true animal lover.Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory.
