John Harvey Thornton 68 of Roanoke, VA, passed away on the morning of Thursday February 11, 2016 at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
John was a loving father, grandpa, and friend. John is survived by his daughters, Allison Thornton and Lisa Kovacevic; a son, and his fiancée James Evan Thornton and Ashley Wiegerling; grandsons, Cole Kovacevic, and Connor Thornton; a brother, Curtiss Thornton and his wife Barbara Thornton; sisters, Cleo McCoy, Carmel Miller, Diana Sheppard and her husband Frank Sheppard; nephew, Christopher Thornton as well as many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family thanks you for your continued thoughts and prayers during this time.
The family will receive friends Thursday February 18, 2016 from 2:00-4:00p and 6:00-8:00p at Simpson Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private.
