Obituary of Thomas Meredith

Thomas "Tommy" Meredith, 82, of Roanoke passed away suddenly February 10, 2016 at Friendship Manor in Roanoke, Va. Mr. Meredith was born in Snowville, VA on July 30, 1933 and was a son of the late Kyle H. and Nela Meredith, and was the youngest of nine children. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings, wife Georgia and son, Thomas Meredith, Jr. Tommy was a strong-willed, caring and gentle soul. He was an Army veteran having proudly served his country. He was a car enthusiast and an avid car racing fan. Having grown up on a farm in Pulaski County, he later resided in Botetourt County where he owned and operated Meredith's Mobile gas station. Left to cherish his memory are his lifelong friend and companion, Onelius Wright of Roanoke and her great grandchildren Kyle Eanes and Kaydy Wright, his niece, Nelia Larson-Mann and husband Robert of South Riding, VA; nephew, Douglas Reed and wife Judy of Daleville; and special friends Judy and Jackie Hayes of Roanoke.
