Jesse W. Martin, 66, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 10, 2016. He was preceded by his parents, Murrell and Rachel Martin; and brothers, Lee and Murrell Martin Jr.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Mary (Catherine) Martin; sons, Jay Martin and wife Laura, Eric Martin and wife Mary, Billy Martin and wife Kristy, Kevin (Peanut) Martin and wife Leigh, Robbie Martin and fiancé Malisa; grandchildren, Jeremy, Preston, Carson, Cora, Tyler, Garrett and Gavin Martin; sister, Kay McGuire; brother, James Martin and wife Teresa; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special family friend and caregiver, Kitty Shanley.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2016, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home, 540-366-0707.
