Robert Vincent "Robbie" Horne, 60, of Roanoke went to be with his Heavenly Father Wednesday, January 13, 2016. He was born February 22, 1955 a son of the late Robert Reece and Joyce Kingery Horne. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Ayers.
Robbie grew up in the Coopers Cove community of Roanoke County. He loved to spend his time outdoors tinkering. He enjoyed drag racing, and building model cars. He never met a stranger.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda H. Horne; daughter, Melanie Blankenship, sister, Becky Langston, brother, Jeff Horne; step sons, Chad and Brent Walker; and a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the love of his life, JoJo.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society
Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. William Logan. Entombment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707.
