Obituary of Evelyn Gertude Moses

Evelyn Gertrude “Gertie” Moses 90 of Elliston went to be with the Lord on Thursday December 10, 2015. Her daughter, Joyce Kessenger, parents, Wiley T. and Willie G. Moses, siblings, Claude “Buddy” Moses, Lawrence McFadden, and Mary Conner preceded her.
“Gertie” enjoyed taking care of her family, loved cooking for them, and scrap booking with pictures that meant something to her. She was one of the friendliest people you would ever meet, loved everyone, and never met a stranger. A very loving and caring person, she will be dearly missed by all.
Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Darlene Witt and companion Jeff Johnson of Elliston, Dreama Bradley and husband Greg of Salem, Sandra Tuckwiller and husband James of Salem, and Joey Pruitt of Roanoke; 6 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren; sisters, Bertha Burger of Salem and Velma Nadine Stump of Elliston, along with other many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service celebrating “Gertie’s” life will be held at 1:00pm Saturday December 12, 2015 at Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor, Dr. Don Woodard officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends Friday December 11, 2015 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
