Kenneth Christopher "Kenny" Bridges, 26, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Monday, November 23, 2015. He was preceded by his grandparents, Edwin L. and Beryl B. George, and Claudia H. Bridges.
Kenny was a 2008 graduate of William Fleming High School. While in high school he worked as a host at TGI Friday's. Following high school he pursued his lifelong dream of joining the Marine Corps. His tours of duty as a heavy machine operator took him to many places including Okinawa and Afghanistan. Upon his discharge from the Marines in 2013, he rejoined the staff at TGI Friday's as a bartender.
Surviving are, the love of his life, Kelly Combs and her son Jay; parents, Tom and Linda Bridges; sister, Crystal Bridges; grandfather, Thomas Bridges.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Wounded Warriors Project P O Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Shenandoah Baptist Church by Pastor Stanley Long. Interment with military honors will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
