Thurma was a warm & loving Aunt and I have a lot of great memories of visiting in her home. I always felt the love around her. She will be missed by our family. I know she is painting beautiful pictures in heaven & I will remember her every time I see a lovely sunset. Robbie

Burke Family,
While I am saddened to learn that you are mourning the loss of Miss Thurma, it saddens our loving God even more. May you take comfort in knowing that he is very much aware of your many fond memories. Just as you have memories God remembers too. In fact, he longs to fulfill his promise to bring back to life those in his memory. [ Job 14:15 John5:28,29 ]

I was sad to see the notice in the paper this morning of Thurma's passing. Before she came to live with us, my mom lived for a few years at Elm Park in the early 2000's. Mom kept to herself a lot I think but I know she considered Thurma a real friend there. I met Thurma a few times when I'd come for lunch and she impressed me as a kind and open woman who put people at ease and encouraged them with her positivity; I know her friendship was good for my mom because of those things. My mom passed earlier this year and it is still hard. My most sincere condolences to you all.

Betty, we were sorry to hear that your mother had passed away. We remember her as a beautiful and talented woman we were lucky to have as a neighbor. We were sorry to see her go but understand that older people need to be near their children.
I guess the last time we saw you was at Grandfather Mountain when we just happened to run into you at the same place. What a coincidence! Was that in 1976? Where did the time go.
We remember having you as a sitter for our boys. They are now grown. The oldest, Brad, has three boys, all in college here in Denton. The second, Greg, has one daughter who just finished her bachelor's degree at U of Okla (and did her last semester in their Semester Abroad program in Italy). She's in England this yr working on a Masters at the U of Leicester. Randy, our youngest, is single and works in Denton. We're in the same house on Kendolph--51 years.
Love to you and your family.
Charles & Darlyn
