Obituary of Howard Buchanan

Howard “Buck” Buchanan 92 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Sunday September 20, 2015. He was preceded by his parents, Viola Pittman and Thomas Jefferson Buchanan, five siblings, a son, Alan “Buck” Buchanan, and a grandson, Eric Fogg. Mr. Buchanan retired from the United States Post Office in 1984 after 36 years of service. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Roanoke. Surviving are his loving wife of 72 years Evelyn; two daughters, Beverly Fogg and husband, Dale, Patti Gilbert and husband Sonny; four grandchildren, Glen Fogg and his wife, MaLisa, Amy Ingraham and her husband Bryan, Bobby Gilbert, Jr. and his wife Dawn and Jason Buchanan and his wife Melissa; twelve great grandchildren, Joshua and his wife Kayla, Brittny, Alissa, Shelby, Samuel, Gabriel, Gavin, Grace, Sadie, Justin and his wife Kelsey, Emily and Torre Wisher; three great great grandchildren, Eric Fogg, Bryan Fogg, and Carson Buchanan, along with several nieces and nephews. A funeral service celebrating Mr. Buchanan’s life will be held 2:00pm Thursday September 24, 2015 in Simpson Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Fogg officiating and Pastors Dale Mullinix and Glen Fogg co-celebrants. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends Wednesday September 23, 2015 from 6:00-9:00pm at Simpson funeral home.
