David Gene Hartman, 74, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Monday, August 24, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie C. and Eva Jordan Hartman; sisters, Thelma Bise, and Gracie Ballinger; and brothers, William, Carl, Lloyd, and Leo Hartman.
Surviving are his children, Shannon Coschia and Randall Hartman; grandchildren, Ryan E. Coschia, Darian B. Trail, Nicholas D. Coschia, Hannah Hartman, and Madison M. Hartman; great grandchildren, Edward V. Coschia, Alexander D. Coschia, and Mackenzie N. Alls; brothers, Cleo Hartman and wife Delores, Raymond Hartman and wife Kay, Daniel Hartman and wife Darlene; sisters, Ruth King and husband Steve, Kathleen Dunman, Darlene Dunman and husband Doc, Trudy Prater; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
A celebration of Gene's life will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. Interment will follow in Hartman Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory. 366-0707
